ITEC Earthworks manager Clifford Brady and administration officer Hollie Marchetti. Clifford’s passion for landscaping started early, and he began working locally in garden maintenance at a young age. Hollie joined the team a few years ago to help keep up with increasing demand and says the company has kept growing steadily since then.

ITEC Earthworks has come a long way since its humble beginnings doing site cleans and general construction earthworks after the 2009 fires. Today, with qualified landscapers on board, crew numbers in double digits and a network of other specialists at hand, ITEC Earthworks has evolved into a one-stop shop for all landscaping needs.

ITEC manager Clifford Brady says they tailor their work to individual needs, taking into account the style of buildings and the nature of the site. The process of creating custom landscapes from scratch is challenging at times, but Clifford says it’s definitely worthwhile. “It’s rewarding. We’re not punching out ten units in a row where we’re just doing a bit of timber edge and some lawn; we’re really pushing for that next level. We’re flexible with the clients, so nothing is set in concrete, and we can adjust as we go.” “Each project is unique to itself, and what looks good on paper doesn’t necessarily work on-site,” adds administration officer Hollie Marchetti.

landscape from go to whoa, or a light garden rejuvenation job. No project is too big or too small. Their journey to landscaping specialisation began on the ‘big’ side of things in 2014 with a complete landscape in Marysville, which subsequently delighted scores of Open Gardens visitors. Clifford holds this property in high regard, and eight years on, the ITEC team still visits regularly. “This job set the benchmark for me, and when we’d finished, I looked back and thought, ‘wow, we can make this happen’,” he says. That first landscaping success paved the way for many more residential projects, as well as commercial ones and those contributing to the local community. “We have had the absolute pleasure of undertaking multiple community projects, where ITEC has managed to engage and facilitate these works as our way of giving back to the community. The local RSL garden is a prime example of community kindness,” Clifford says. Recently, they added another feather to the company cap. After years dedicated to landscaping projects of all shapes and sizes, ITEC Earthworks is now a proud member of Victoria’s peak landscaping association, Landscaping Victoria Master Landscapers.

Over the years, they have also accrued a diversely-skilled, hard-working team and formed working relationships with designers and other professionals, allowing ITEC to provide comprehensive landscaping project management – “from blank canvas to completion and maintenance”. Supporting other local businesses has been a high priority in creating this network of specialists. “We’re really blessed working here because a lot of the tradies work together. So if we need a plumber or a concreter or a sparky on site, we can get someone local. We even have a plant consultant who can come in and select the plants for the gardens that we build,” Clifford says. Along with taking the headache out of organising other tradespeople or services, the ITEC Earthworks team strives to make clients’ landscaping experience easier and more enjoyable wherever possible. “We have a lot of Melbourne clients, and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to keep them updated and notified of their jobs progression. I will send regular updates and images throughout the construction process to keep them informed on how the project is tracking. They seem to really appreciate that,” Hollie says. The combination of customer service and pride in their work appears to be doing the trick, and Clifford says their reputation and repeat business are both steadily growing. They’ve come a long way since their clean-up days and have successfully established themselves. “The highest compliment for our company is getting return clientele. Return customers are the best satisfaction for us because we know we’ve done something right,” Clifford says. ITEC Earthworks is looking to expand their team in 2022 to keep up with high demand and a busy schedule.
